and why would i call the english language a bastard? ain't it too harsh to say so? well that's cause english got too much influence from norman french

in addition, it generally has a lot of latin loans

not to mention that even the basic words of english come not necessarily from west germanic languages but rather the northern ones

in other words english was influenced a lot by the languages that the vikings spoke

oh and don't you forget that there's like i think 10% of greek vocab in english

but i mean like koine greek
